People often have problems communicating with the society (family, school, friends, work, loved ones). A group gives people the opportunity to share life experience, problem-solving strategies and to learn from each other.

Group therapy enables a person to look at themselves and their problems through the eyes of someone else, to create a relationship model, to see the reactions of others to their behavior and get support from other members of the group. It also provides a chance to gradually develop social skills.

The purpose of group therapy is to make people realize the necessity of listening to the opposing ideas, taking them into consideration and initiating dialogues. One of the main goals of group therapy is to make a person more empathetic and to increase their self-esteem. Different psychological practices and methods are used in group therapy, based on patients’ problems and wishes.

Group therapy is effective for problems like depression, anxiety, social phobias, chronic pains, addiction to substances, Ludo mania (gambling addiction), nutritional disorders, aggressiveness, excessive shyness, feeling of loneliness, low self-esteem.
